Exciting time for Woodwind instruments as the ABRSM launches new syllabus with fresh repertoire on July 8th 2021. This new syllabus, for Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone is valid for exams taken from January 2022 onwards.
Over 600 music teachers were consulted in the compilation of the new syllabus which contains a wider repertoire. Scales, aural and sight reading requirements remain the same and existing books will still be valid. The new syllabus includes the Clarinet Exam Pack, the Saxophone Exam Pack and the Flute Exam Pack - all for grades 1 to 5. The packs include:-
- exam pieces (score and part)
- scales and arpeggios
- sight-reading
- codes for audio downloads.
If the exam pack isn't for you, or you already have the scales / sight reading / aural books, then the new Exam Pieces books are available individually for Clarinet grades 1 - 7, Flute grades 1 - 7 and Saxophone for grades 1 to 5.
